This table is based on a card table
from Newport, RI made by John
Townsend. Regarded to be among
the premier artisans in American
History, the Goddard-Townsend
group crafted the best examples
of Queen Anne and Chippendale
furniture. The block front and top,
and the fully-articulated ball-and-
claw feet are reminiscent of these
renowned Newport masters.
